Cutting through the clutter …

I spent the day yesterday in the emergency room.  What
a relief it was to know that even though I was racking
up medical bills all day, that my in’come was still
continuing.

If it hadn’t been for my business, I probably would
not have been able to concentrate on getting better
quickly and getting home.

Some of the ways that my income continues even while
I am not actively working include:

*  Commissions generated from affiliate links inside
of ebooks I’ve written

*  Commissions generated from affiliate links inside
of Resale Rights products that I’ve sold

*  Commissions generated from affiliate links inside
of Private Label Rights products that I’ve customized
and sold

*  Commissions generated from affiliate links inside
of free reports that I’ve given away

*  Sales of my own products made through other ebooks
I’ve written, Resale Rights products I’ve sold, or
PLR products I’ve customized and sold

And those are just a FEW of the ways that I continue
to e’arn m’oney while away from the computer!

Each month, all of those links are still out in
cyberspace, and sitting on people’s hard drives, making
me a nice chunk of change.

Even products that I’ve given away at no charge from
my opt in pages or from giveaways I’ve participated in
still bring in cold hard c’ash on an ongoing basis.

I track every single link that I’ve ever included and
it never ceases to amaze me to see that even emails
that I sent out over a year ago can still generate sales
today!

None of this happened by accident.

Rather, it is only by DESIGN that you are able to
continue to pr’ofit from efforts taken long ago.

So how do you DESIGN a plan that allows you to make
money in a passive rather than an active manner?

It’s a matter of strategically setting up a profit
funnel for your business.

Your profit funnel consists of a series of products
that start out at a low price and continue to increase
in price as well as value.

Each product should sell the next successive product in
your funnel AND each product should also bring in
additional revenue passively.

It is easiest to do this with your own information
products.  However, it can be done with resale rights
products, software, and even with physical products as
well.

Let me give you an example of how you would set up a
pr’ofit funnel for your business regardless of your
niche …

PRODUCT #1 —  FREE REPORT

This can be a product that you have Private Label
Rights to
.  The report should outline a specific
problem that people in your niche
have.  It should then
go on to pose a solution to that problem.

In the report, you only briefly discuss the solution.
Then, give the reader a resource that can be used to
get that solution faster, or make the solution more
powerful.  That resource is the second product in your
funnel.

PRODUCT #2 — $27 EBOOK

As with the free report, this ebook should be based
on solving a problem for people in your niche.  A
quick and easy way to create this ebook is to interview
an expert in your niche and have that interview
transcribed and editted into an ebook.
  That will then
give you the next product in your funnel as well.

Make sure that when you edit the transcript, you drop
in appropriate affiliate links in the content itself
!

You also want to put in an ad for Product #3 at the
beginning and end of the ebook.  That ad can say
something like, “In a Hurry?  Get this ebook on Audio
so that you can listen to it on your iPod, in your car!
Valuable, Time Saving Bonuses Included”

These ads will act as a traffic generation system for
product #3
.

 

PRODUCT #3 — $47 AUDIO PRODUCT

Remember that interview that you used to create product
#2?  Well you’re going to do what we call “repurposing
your content
” and use it to create your third product
as well.

For product #3, you’ll want to have 2 or 3 audio
interviews, the transcripts to those interviews, and
maybe a few bonuses
.  You can even use resale rights
products for the bonuses.

Package them altogether into a single zip file.  Inside
of the zip file, you’ll want a “ReadMe.txt” file as
well as a “BONUSES.html” file
.

The ReadMe.txt file will contain your copyright notice
and a statement of any type of rights the customer has.

The Bonuses.html file will contain a web page where you
give away a short (i.e. 3 to 5 minute) video excerpt
from the next product in your funnel.  At the bottom of
the page, include a Special Offer for product #4 and a
link to order.

PRODUCT #4 — $97 VIDEO COURSE

Ok, now we’re moving into the big guns here.  Remember
the 2 or 3 audio interviews that you used for Product
#3?  You’re going to create a powerpoint slide show for
each of them.

Once you have the powerpoint slideshow created, you’ll
want to add the audio to the slideshow to create a
new video
.  There are tons of tools available to do
this quickly and easily — even if you’re a non-technie.
You can even hire someone to do it for you for less
than $100.

You’ll want to create a checklist to include with the
videos as well
.  Since the interviews will describe a
solution to a problem, simply outline the step-by-step
process that one would take and title that as a
checklist.

If the material lends itself to a worksheet or a
workbook, create one in Word
and include that as well.

Can you include a mindmap or flowchart showing the
solution in a more diagramed manner?  That would add
additional value to the product as well.

Look for resale rights products that might also add
value for your customers.  Perhaps you could include
some time-saving software, a planner, or the like.

Once again, you’re going to include a ReadMe.txt file
and a Bonuses.zip file inside of the main zip file for
the package. 

This time, the bonus might be a free Strategy Session
with you or a coach on your team.  You will use that
free Strategy Session to then send the prospect an
autoresponder series of 12 to 14 emails each talking
about a coaching program or seminar or workshop that
you offer as product #5.

Don’t forget to include affiliate links throughout the
content itself!  You can do that through outright ads,
a copyright notice, or a single slide in the video.

PRODUCT #5 — HIGH END COACHING PROGRAM, WORKSHOP OR
SEMINAR ($997 OR HIGHER)

This is the product that is your biggest profit maker.
Products 1 through 4 should refer to it in some way,
in case you have a buyer that wants to skip the middle
steps and go straight for the hand-holding.

Think of products #1 through #4 as nothing but lead
generation tools for this, Product #5.

Regardless of your niche, you can offer a coaching
program, a multi-speaker seminar, or a one-day to a
weekend workshop
.  The content of any of those would
be to show your customer how to do something, rather
than to tell your customer how to do something.

Again, that “something” should be a solution to a
problem that your customer has.

If you’re in the golf niche, it could be based on
“Cutting 5 strokes off your game”.

In the dog grooming niche, it could be based on “How
To Make Your Dog Look Like a Million Dol’lar Pedigree”.

The better job you do in posing the program as a
true SOLUTION for your customer, the more you are
likely to sell
!

Through the content of this product, you will offer
products #1 through #4 as well as other affiliate
products.

 

Do you get the picture now?

The point I’m trying to make is that having a single
product that you sell over and over again isn’t enough
to build a business.

When you set up a true profit funnel as I’ve described,
then all you need to do is to drive traffic to product
#1.

Product #1 sells Product #2.
Product #2 sells Product #3.
Product #3 sells Product #4.
Product #4 sells Product #5.

This way, you maximize the lifetime value of a customer.

Instead of making a single $7 sale from a single
customer, you are much more likely to make up to $1,180
if you used the pr’ices in my example, and even MORE
if you plan things out right!

You no longer have to worry about getting new customers
every week.  Now you are able to focus on selling to
old customers who you have established relationships
with already.

Not only is it easier to sell to those existing
customers, it is MUCH cheaper as well!  Especially
since you don’t necessarily have to pay an affiliate
commission on the successive sales.  That alone could
save you well over $590 per customer over a customer’s
lifetime (and that’s just with the example prices I
used!).

The easiest way to then implement this system is by
setting up a blog and using your blog to drive traffic
to product #1.

When you have a blog, it is easier to drive traffic.
It is easier to get top search engine rankings.
And it is easier to direct your visitors to a product
of YOUR choosing.

Once you have a profit funnel in place, your entire job
is to become a traffic director for your company.  Work
as hard as you can to get as many people as possible to
download product #1.  Let the product itself become the
lead generation tool for your other products.

While this is happening, your strategic use of
affiliate links
inside of the content of your products
as well as inside of your ReadMe.txt file and your
Bonuses.html files, will continue to generate passive
income for you for a LONG time to come
!

So — how do you get started?

The first step is to get that blog set up IMMEDIATELY
and start generating traffic to it
.  If you still have
no idea of where to start with blogging, I highly
recommend this great video course that walks you
through every step from setting up your blog to
creating high quality, keyword rich posts that generate
traffic.  You’ll find it at:

You might even consider setting up a poll on that blog
so that you can find out more about the problems people
have in your market
.  That will help you to build a
better pr’ofit funnel because your products will be
better solutions for your prospects.

Use your blog to attract experts in your niche for the
interviews that you will use to create your products.

Then start working on your free report (product #1).
When it is completed, add it to your blog.  Until the
next product is ready, have any ads in the free report
point to a webpage that says “Coming Soon” with a
brief description and an opt in box.  That way, when
product #2 is ready to launch, you’ll already have a
stream of interested prospects!

Continue to do this with each product in your funnel
until they are all completed!
