Is The JV Queen A Snob Or What?

You had better be a Snob if you plan on making any real money at all in your business, that is!

This is a lesson that I didn’t personally learn until about 18 months ago.  It’s a lesson that continues to bring me results that surprises me over and over again.

For example … I was certainly not prepared for the tremendous response that I’ve gotten the last few days from my last 2 emails that talked about my retiring as a coach as well as the retirement of my products in their current digital form.

By the way …

You still have a few more days to grab them if you’re interested!

Don’t forget — if you’re one of the top 3 selling affiliates in the next week, on a combination of ALL of my products, you’ll win resale rights to EVERY SINGLE ONE!

I’ll tell you right now that this is going to cost around $197 or more, so it’s certainly worth a little effort to promote them!

Again, you can find all the products at:

You can register as an affiliate at:

Ok, back to the point that I am trying to make …

Not only was I surprised at the response that I got, but it’s this kind of response that prompts people to ask me all the time what it is that I do that generates such a tremendous response to my emails, click thrus from my blogs, and responses from my social marketing.

The answer to that question is actually one of the things that I consider myself an expert on.  That is …

Building Relationships

As a JV Broker, Relationships were critical to my success.  Without strong relationships with prospective JV Partners, I most certainly would never have become “The JV Queen”.

Without strong relationships, my business would most certainly never have gotten to it’s current state of success with 6 people on staff, a subscriber list of around 60,000, and more than 500 affiliates altogether.

Although building relationships with people over the phone and in person has always come easily to me, I did not always experience this level of success in building relationships through emails and blogs.

In fact, since I didn’t have this level of success from my blogging and my emails in the past, it even effected my traffic.  BIG Time!

My traffic used to be a teensy tiny fraction of what it is now.  In fact, I can even remember days where I would put up a blog post, send out an email to my list of 10,000+, and not one single visitor would even show up on my site, much less click any of my links.

So what is different now?

Why am I able to now put up a single blog post and KNOW that I will get HUNDREDS of visitors overnight?

Why am I able to now send out a single email and KNOW that a thousand or more people will click on whatever link I include? (No matter how long the message is!;-D)

I’m not trying to brag here at all.  But you’ve got to understand the magnitude of the lesson that I’m sharing with you.  These are the kind of results that I experience with NO AFFILIATES!

What causes these kind of results?
More importantly, what can you do to duplicate them in your own business?

In April of last year, I had been working with another well known marketer.  One day he told me:

“Gina, Listen.  If you aren’t going to be a snob in your writing, you’d better go find a job!”

This took me by complete surprise!

A snob?  Me?  I’m anything BUT a snob!

I didn’t know that it would even be possible for me to be a snob!

That marketer’s advice really threw me for a loop.

He told me that I needed to be more snobby in my writing, both on my blogs, and in my emails.  He says that until I can be more snobby, I’m setting myself up for fewer sales.

But if you know me at all, you’d know that I actually work VERY hard at being down to earth, being ‘just one of the guys’ and thus, NOT snobby.

He pointed out the writing of many of the internet’s top gurus:

… Terry Dean
… Mark Joyner
… (the late) Gary Halbert
… and many others

And he told me that I really needed to study them.  When I did, do you know what I saw?  They ARE snobby!  In fact, they are VERY snobby.

Terry Dean actually spoke at my seminar last September.  I can tell you from my own personal experience with him that he is anything BUT a snob.

So, what do you think the answer is?

Do you really need to be a snob to have HUGE sales on the internet?  Is it essential that you write in a snobby way in order to have a successful internet business?

When this marketer shared this “secret” with me, I decided to investigate it fully so that I could learn the answers for myself.

I went searching on my hard drive for the Terry Dean books that I had studied when I had just gotten started on the internet.

Back then (and even now), Terry was actually one of the people who I consider a ‘mentor’ to me.  No, I had never talked to him.  I had never even exchanged an email with him.  But Terry’s teachings probably had more of an impact on me and on how I ran my business than any other person’s writings.

In looking at the early works of Terry Dean, he was very snobby.  He was clearly good at what he did, and he knew it.

I started thinking that this marketer was right, unless I could become more snobby in my writing, I was condemning myself to a lower level of monetary success than I had hoped for.

It was when I decided to take a look at Terry’s more recent writings that I was really surprised!

You see, a few years back, Terry Dean had retired from the internet completely.  He had achieved so much success in his business, that he no longer needed to work.  But recently, a few years ago, he made a comeback.

Terry’s current blog only goes back only about 18 months, but there was enough there to really find my answer clearly.  I took a long look at those posts to help me to answer this question.

I read at least 10 posts.  In each, Terry comes across very authoritative;  very confident.  But something was different in every one of these posts.  In fact, they didn’t even seem to be written by the same person that had written those earlier ebooks that I had just read.

The difference?

Terry was no longer completely snobby!

After really searching his blog thoroughly, I finally came across one post where Terry himself describes himself as ‘arrogant’.  And it was that post, that helped me answer this question for myself.

In fact, in that post, Terry appeared to be struggling with the same issue that is now before me.  And he asked himself, ‘Was my success because I was so smart, and wonderful?’

Terry’s answer was that he was successful because of both God and those around him.  The balance of his blog post is then devoted to thanking all those who helped him to achieve his success.

What I learned from this investigation is exactly what I put into action that caused me to start getting RESULTS from my writing …

Results in terms of subscribers to my list.
Results in terms of MUCH more traffic to my sites.
Results in terms of MUCH higher sales of my products and my affiliate products.
Results in terms of click thrus (and sales) from my emails.

Here’s what you need to know in order to apply this to your blog posts, your emails, your articles, your info products, and any other written materials you create …

There are ‘5 Components To Building a Successful Sales Relationship Online’.  They are:

1)  Snobbiness sells.

Sorry to tell you that, but it’s the truth.  Just look at any of the great writers and/or gurus.  At least in their writing, they ARE snobs.

2)  You MUST be Thankful for what you have and what others have given to you.

While you must have a snobby attitude in your writing, and in how you interact with your customers, you MUST also show your gratitude to those who have helped you along the way.  That can be your family, your mentors, and even your customers.  Make sure that you show your gratitude to those people and don’t just keep it to yourself!

3)  Do not be rude while being snobby.

My grandmother always used to say, ‘You get more bees with honey than with vinegar’.  And that’s the truth too.  While portraying an attitude of self confidence, you do not need to actively be mean or spiteful to anyone.  Treat others the way that you would wish them to treat you.

4)  Always remember to give to others first, before you expect to get anything in return.

Even while you are being snobby, remember to GIVE.  It may be a challenge, but it’s absolutely essential to your success!

5)  Even though you may be a snob in your teaching, it does NOT mean that you have to be a snob in real life.

This is perhaps the biggest lesson here.  If you look at any of these great writers, and especially in the case of Terry Dean, while they may be snobs in their teaching and in their writing, they are FAR from snobs as people.
For some of us, being a snob does not come easily.  In my case, my parents always taught me:

To NOT be arrogant.

To NOT be boastful.

To NOT be stuck up.

So are you condemning yourself to a life of being poor if you are not a snob in your writing?

As my results have shown this past 18 months, the answer is …

Absolutely NOT!

I can’t imagine looking someone in the eye and telling them flat out, ‘No, I can’t help you unless you pay me $2,000 per hour.’  That’s a bit too snobbish for me.

Instead, my typical reaction would be, ‘Sure!  I’d LOVE to help!’

But, as my available time has decreased as my business  has grown, the simple truth is that my time is very valuable.

I don’t think that anyone expects me to simply give my time away freely at all, and so it’s ok for me to ask SOMETHING for my time.

But do I have to be such a snob that I DEMAND $2,000 or more per hour?

There is a happy middle ground in there somewhere. It is a very fine line, for sure, but one that can be mastered if you consider the five elements above.

You must work hard to develop a relationship with your subscribers, and turn them into customers.  You must then work to expand that relationship with your customers and make them love you even more.

You do this through writing on your blog and in your emails, by exuding self confidence and authority as
well as by making your opinions known.

If you really want to make money online, this relationship must be developed from the very first moment that the people hear your name and see your products.

One of the best ways to begin your relationship with your audience is through your blog.  That way you can use your blog to both build the relationship and at the same time grow your list.

I use a very specific formula to write my blog posts that keeps in mind the ‘5 Components To Building a Successful Sales Relationship Online’.

I share that formula — the formula that I call “the MAGIC formula” — in “21 Days To Blogging Profits“, my multi-media course that shows you how to drive thousands of unique visitors to your blog every day
in a very short period of time.

The Magic Formula consists of:

1)  Writing a post that arouses curiosity and asks a question that sets up a problem
2)  Starts out by telling a story that your reader can identify with that allows them to take ownership of a problem that is illustrated through the story
3)  Then reiterates the question that is a statement of the problem
4)  Next, give a short, bulleted list of either a step-by-step process that is the solution to the problem, or a short, bulleted list of solutions to the problem
5)  Go on to explain the solution to the problem
6)  At the end, give a resource that helps to get a bigger result, a better result, a faster result, etc.

You want to write a post using this “Magic Formula” every single day for 90 days.

After posting to your WordPress blog, use my 6-step system for driving traffic using your blog.

Initially, you’ll start out with a small trickle of traffic that will come from those things you are doing such as pinging the search engines, commenting on other people’s blogs, social bookmarking your posts and comments, joining communities in MyBlogLog.com, and adding your blog to RSS feed directories.

But, sometime in that second month of blogging every day, things will start to shift.

Now instead of getting a small trickle of traffic from those sites you are actively doing something on, you will start to get more traffic — this time from the search engines.

By the end of the 90 days of blogging and using the 6-step system, you should have search engine rankings that are good enough to allow you to get between 1,000 and 5,000 unique visitors per day to your blog!

To me, the neat thing about this is that you can even outsource almost every piece of the 6-step system.  The only part you can’t outsource is the writing of the blog post itself.

It won’t cost you much at all to hire a traffic assistant who then takes care of the other 5 steps each day.  And, that investment would MORE than pay for itself in only 90 days!

Of course, you can also spend only an hour to two per day and get the same results!

Think about it …

How much would you make if you were driving 1,000 to 5,000 unique visitors to your blog every day?

How many subscribers would you have if you were getting 1,000 to 5,000 unique visitors to your blog every day?

How much would your life change just from this increase in subscribers and sales?

It all starts with the RELATIONSHIP with your audience!
And all it takes is a few short hours per day to get your blog up and running and use this very easy, very simple to follow 6-step system.

I like the “snob” part done by the writers. Haha.. sooo true. There is something quite intriguing when writers do this.. of course their articles should be really interesting and they should be a good writer to be able to project this.
