I’m talking about using your blog right on the index page of your website.

When you use a blog in this way, you want to make sure that you’re posting valuable content on your blog as often as possible — at least once a day, at a minimum!

You don’t want your posts to be hyped-up sales promotions either. Your blog posts must actually create VALUE for your readers. In other words, your blog post should help to solve a problem that your reader has.

At the end of your post you should provide your reader with a resource that will help to get bigger results, get better results, get faster results, save time, save money, or make money. That resource can be a paid product, a free product, or even a subscription to your newsletter.

Your readers will GLADLY pay for a resource that helps to make them money, save them money, or save them time – PROVIDED you have first created VALUE for that reader!

You also want to use your blog to build a list. To do this, you place an opt in box at the top of your sidebar.

The rest of your sidebar can then be used to direct traffic to where you want it to go. You do this through ads in your sidebar, through your blogroll, as well as through the posts themselves.

Only after your blog is set up and rocking, is it time to get some traffic!

The reason for using a blog in this way — as the heart of a traffic generation system — is that it makes it SO MUCH easier to get visitors to your site over and over again!

How does your blog make it easier to drive traffic?

Well, you can add each post to social bookmarking sites like Digg, Delicious, Technorati, and Stumble Upon.

You can add the RSS feed from your blog to your social networking site profiles, such as on Facebook.

If you’re doing a good job of writing posts that create value for your readers, then adding your RSS feed to your Facebook profile will help you to establish relationships with your audience right from your Facebook profile.

It will cause your readers to become more loyal. It will make them really WANT what you have to offer. You won’t have to sell at all! Your conversions will skyrocket! Your sales will follow along as well!

You don’t need thousands of visitors to make any real money. What you do need is the RIGHT visitors … the people who really WANT what you have to sell.

And that’s exactly what you get when you use your blog and your Facebook profile together.
