I’d better just apologize again here, because this isnot a short email.  But it is REALLY important!  I’d even say VITALLY important — both to the world andto you as well!  (If you don’t want to read the whole thing, then feel free to scroll to the bottom andread just the last section on( “What You Can Do”.)

Here’s the real reason for my email today.

As I said, this is a REALLY URGENT message.  It’s important enough that I’m sending you 2 separate emails
in less than 24 hours, something I haven’t done in many months.

I hate it when time flies by and before you know it, a day you’ve been waiting for during the past months is
right on top of you!  And that’s exactly what happened today.

You see, this Wednesday, October 15th is “Blog Action Day”.  I wanted to make sure that you not only knew
about it, but that you had as much help as possible in joining in on making a difference.

“Blog Action Day” is a day when more than 50,000 bloggers worldwide will join together and unite in a cause.  This year’s cause is POVERTY.

The program was started only last year (2007) when bloggers from around the blogosphere came together to
blog about the environment.  More than 20,000 bloggers were able to raise about 7 figures to help make a
difference.

This year, though, the cause is even more urgent because the issue is more urgent.

HOW BIG IS THE ISSUE OF POVERTY?

I’ve put together a short page that shares some of the pertinent statistics about how serious the issue of

*  Almost half the world — over 3 billion people — lives on less than $2.50 a day.3.
*  1 billion children live in poverty (1 in 2 children in the world).
*  10.6 million children died in 2003 before they reached the age of 5 (or roughly 29,000 children per day).

Last night, I got into bed around 4:00 am in Ozark, MO and turned my TV on to relax.  My satellite dish wasn’t
set up, so I turned to a local channel (something I do not more than once per year).

The only channel that didn’t have an informercial on it was PBS, so I left the program on to see what it was
about.

Talk about a “coincidence”?  This is the kind of  “coincidence” that happens in my life all the time …

Just before I turned in that night, I had been working on the page I put together for you about poverty.  It
turned out the program was about the exact same topic, POVERTY!

More specifically, the program was about one SOLUTION!

THE SOLUTION TO POVERTY — A STORY
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

That solution won a Nobel Peace Prize for the founder of the Graemean Bank a fef years back, and he was being
interviewed on the show.

What won him the Nobel Prize was developing “microloans”.  A mircoloan is a loan that is given in a small amount — often only $5 to $25.

The Graemean Bank was the first to offer microloans of any type.  Their model allowed entrepreneurs to   borrow such small sums to buy assets to open a business.

The applicants were often women in third world countries who had never even been able to afford a second set of clothes or a second set of shoes.

Some of these women were interviewed on the show, and I couldn’t help but cry as I heard them.

One woman talked about how she would wash her one and only sari by first dipping the bottom half in the water, then using it to cover her top half as she put the top half in the water.  She would then have to wear the
outfit wet until it dried.

Can you imagine having to live in conditions such as that?

For most entrepreneurs, the idea of having only 1 closet of clothes instead of 2 would seem like poverty.  But this woman is an example of what the REAL WORLD faces every single day!

Imagine how difficult it must have been for her to open her business?

You think that it’s difficult for you to start your business online — when you have all sorts of tools at your disposal.  When you have ebooks, and audios, and vidoes, and people like me to show you how to build your business.

Think about this woman for a moment …

Her first business was a milk business.  She had to buy her animals, buy their feed, buy the containers to put
the milk in, and learn how to care for them with only a loan of $10 !

Each day, she would make only 50 cents to a dollar on her efforts, and this would have to feed her 3 children
first, before any “profits” could be applied to repayment of the loan or reinvested in the business.

Yet from the very third day on, she was PROFITABLE!

She may have only made a few pennies each day, but it was exponentially greater than what she had before!

For the first time in her life — even before her husband had died suddenly in an accident — she had real MONEY in her hands!

She successfully repaid the entire $10 loan in the 1 year repayment terms and went on to borrow another $25
immediately to start her second business.

She used what she had learned in the first to start a new business that was not as labor intensive.  This time she went into the tailoring business by buying her first sewing machine — one that operated on a treddle instead.

YOU THOUGHT YOUR BUSINESS WAS DIFFICULT TO GET GOING?

And you thought that YOUR business was difficult?

It’s a shame really …

It’s a shame that more people don’t really stop to consider that no matter how bad things are in their own world, that there is always someone who is worse off.

I know this from my own personal experience when I faced the 12 to 18 month death sentence imposed on me
by my doctors.  No matter how bleak my conditin was, no matter how much pain I felt, no matter how close
to death I came.

I often thought about all the people who were suffering even more than I was at the time.I prayed for them
every day.

This is what I mean when I say that you must live life with a “glass half full” attitude instead of one that is a “glass half empty” outlook.

This, in part, is what it means to live a life filled with “Abundant Positivity”.

But we need to do more than that if this world is ever gone to be happier, more peaceful, and the ideal world that is the goal.

USING LEVERAGE TO PROPOGATE PROSPERITY

You’re probably asking yourself how you can even make any impact at all on such huge issues as poverty or
world peace.  After all, you’re just one person …

That’s where the concept of LEVERAGE comes in.

As “The JV Queen”, my job in organizing joint ventures for my clients was to leverage the resources of other
marketers to build very large promotionos.  When one person had a product but needed traffic, we would tap
into the mailing list of a marketer who could create traffic.

It’s the same concept that applies with the Graemean Bank’s microloan program … When one entrepreneur
has a need, the Bank taps into the resources of others.  They pool those resources together to spread out the
risk, and then make a very small loan — but MONUMENTAL in terms of impact — to the fledling entreprneur.

And there are ways that YOU can use leverage to make a difference in the world, too!

All it takes, really, is a little outside the box, strategic thinking!
